Living in the past

It never fails to amaze me at how many of our students just don’t know how to work computers! Like.. how do they get through the day without knowing how to do anything on a computer!! How did some of them pass their degrees!
OMG, I know I am a geek but .. but.. 
In other levels of nerd-ness and to follow my car number plate obsession. The other day I saw the plate ‘KEK’ and thought ‘LOL’… in WoW the Orcish for LOL is KEK.. giggle. I am such a nerd, that has made me giggle.

Apple, it’s the future

For the past two mornings my iMac has developed an amazing Artificial Intelligence.
Despite all the critics telling me otherwise (and the fact I am environmental co-ordinator at work) I leave my iMac on *gasp* Sleep! So, the past 2 mornings when my alarm has woken me up my iMac has also brought itself out of Sleep.
I don’t have any sort of alarm wake-up application, it just does… It is almost spooky! Of course, it could just be the vibration or something hitting the mouse.. But I like to think Apple have programmed it to know when I’m awake and might need to use the computer… hahahaha

Chiropractowwww

Since the start of the year (yes a whole 10 months ago) I have had a pain in my shoulder.. It has taken me 9 months to do something about it and I started to see a Chiropractor last month. After 4 appointments the verdict at each was that it was feeling better..
I think that was taken as a signal to be extremely mean to my poor muscles today. It hurts more today than it has done for a good couple of months! I most likely shouldn’t be at the computer, but I have it iced so that’s ok right?
I am most definitely the stubborn type and wish that after 4 weeks it was better! Even though every muscle in my shoulder is shot cos it took me 9 months to do anything about it. C’mon I am the chick that got whiplash but kept playing hockey.. throwing myself to the ground at every opportunity. Hah! *dunce*
Of course, even when my shoulder IS fixed my chiropractor has to move onto my hips, neck, posture, knees, spine, cold feet, back and my thumb.. no credit crunch for this health centre then!! I am single-handly keeping it afloat!

Plug it

Everything is always grand until there is a problem. After the drama with the power cable and finally getting straight answers from Apple they have ended up sending me the WRONG cable!! It’s definitely a laugh out loud moment at the pure stupidity. They have sent me a figure-8 cable with the UK plug but I need the AC power cable with the UK plug.. argh! Anyways, I think my black power cable looks better than the white cable they have sent.. so there!
I also had another wee drama in which I thought Firefox had decided to totally freak out and stop working altogether. Technically it has done, but when I have gone through everything and downloaded Camino I finally figured it was Little Snitch stopping access to the internet. D’Oh! So, thats all working again and now I am about to set WoW up and check it out on my 20″.

Apple-licious

It is finally here! Woot!
After a small hic-up at the beginning where I realised that Apple had been kind enough to only send me one power plug.. except it was the European 2-pin version. D’oh!
After spending 15 minutes trying to get through to order support, hanging up and spending another 10 minutes trying to get through to AppleCare I then spoke to 3 different people before the last person decided to help me! So, I am getting a new adaptor sent out but in the meantime I am using an old computer power cord I found. T’uh!
It’s lovely. It’s so compact and gorgeous and and and… I <3 it!
